GIEF has written and approved a community grant to provide Georgetown students free access to Reid State Park through our new Maine State Park Vehicle Pass lending program. This grant was written with the dual intention of encouraging Georgetown learners to immerse themselves in nature this summer while also helping to remove any potential barrier in accessing one of the most treasured resources on this island and encouraging.
Thanks to the ongoing support of our generous donors, this grant has purchased 9 Maine State Park Vehicle Passes which are available to be borrowed by any Georgetown student. These vehicle passes will give free access to Reid and most other Maine State Parks this year.
Details:
Who: Any resident Georgetown student going into Pre-K – 12th grade for the 24/25 school year.
Where: Laura E. Richards Library 863 Five Islands Road
Monday & Wednesday 3-6pm; Friday & Saturday 9-12pm
May – October.
How: Passes can be checked out during normal business hours and conveniently returned in the drop box if the library is closed.
